19-May-2017 Yerevan, Armenia

On 12-May-2017 the PMI Armenia Chapter leader Mr. Thomas Mazejian was invited to make a presentation about the Chapter for the PMP Exam Preparatory Course students at the American University of Armenia. Mr. Mazejian talked about the establishment process, as well as the future plans of the Chapter. Various topics were discussed with the course participants, in particular, the benefits of the PMI and Chapter memberships, participation in Chapter activities, volunteering opportunities, experience sharing seminars and others.

18-May-2017 Yerevan, Armenia

On 13-May-2017 the PMI Armenia Chapter leader Mr. Thomas Mazejian and PMP Trainer Mrs. Astghik Sahakyan of PMI R.E.P American University of Armenia were invited to hold a project management masterclass to the Center for Strategic Initiatives of the Republic of Armenia. The presentation mainly related to the fundamental principles of project management based on PMI standards. The other section of the presentation focused the importance of the strategic alignment of projects within organizations. 

27-March-2017, Yerevan, Armenia

On 18-March-2017 PMI Armenia Potential Chapter founder and leader Mr. Thomas Mazejian has visited Almaty, Kazakhstan and met with the PMI Kazakhstan Potential Chapter President Mr. Nurkhat Ibadildin and Past President Mr. Rustam Shokamanov.

The main objective of the visit was to discuss different ways of how the two chapters could collaborate. Some of the points discussed was the importance of sharing experiences by inviting to different events organized by the chapters.

PMI Armenia Chapter is happy to introduce José Roberto Cavalcante Alves MBA,PMP who uses comics to promote the need for knowing project management concepts, entrepreneurship and business, making more accessible assimilation, even for non-specialized professionals and any segment, since it is not as popular. José creates a new project management vision, reinforcing the need for expert reaching universities, large corporations and training companies around the world. So let's start... 

PM. Geplanus Pranada graduated with great effort and joined the IT area. He began as a programmer, then a systems analyst, then a project was the natural way. He managed several projects and worked at several large companies. He witnessed many unusual situations and lived many of them--some happy, others not so much. Faithful to his principles and ready to apply the concepts of management, he often collides with reality. Here begins his story...

11-November-2016, Yerevan, Armenia

PMI Armenia Potential Chapter volunteers conducted project management training to the teachers and students of Global Bridge Educational Center on 29-October-2016. This training was the first step of collaboration between PMI Armenia Potential Chapter and Global Bridge.

PMI Armenia Potential Chapter members volunteers Mr. Mikayel Nshanyan, PMP (PMI Armenia Potential Chapter Co-founder), Ms. Marine Grigoryan, PMP (PMI Armenia Potential Chapter Member), Mr. Davit Iskandaryan, PMP (PMI Armenia Potential Chapter Member), Mr. Artak Babayan, PMP (PMI Armenia Potential Chapter Member) have explained the basics of project management and emphasized on its importance.

02-November-2016, Yerevan, Armenia

Project Management Institute (PMI) organized on October 21-23 the Region 8 Meeting, hosted in Athens, Greece. There were a record number of 181 attendees, representing 39 Chapters from 31 different countries. PMI Region 8 meeting 2016 was a key event for collaboration and networking between chapter leaders, volunteers and project managers throughout Europe.
During the event PMI Values and Strategic Plan were presented and charters were given guidelines and best practices to communicate these to chapter members.
PMI Armenia Potential Chapter were represented by 2 of its members Mr. Thomas Mazejian and Mr. David Grigoryan. As a newly established chapter, it has benefited greatly by the event content and it is inspired and motivated to convey recognition, knowledge and network values to its members in Armenia.

The next PMI Region 8 Event will be held in Malmo, Sweden in November 2017.

03-October-2016, Yerevan, Armenia

PMI Armenia Potential Chapter members visited and took a group photo on 02 October 2016 in front of Hayk Nahapet statue.

Hayk Nahapet’s statue has been chosen as an icon for PMI Armenia chapter logotype, since it stands for fortitude, determination and commitment to the ultimate goal. One needs the qualities but these for any endeavor in managing a project.

The legend states that the history of Armenians takes back to a story about Hayk Nahapet (Hayk the Tribal Chief) who defeated Assyrian King Bel and established fortress, giving a start to a nation living near area of Biblical Mount Ararat. 19-September-2016, Yerevan, Armenia

PMI Armenia Chapter has organized its first chapter member meeting at the "The Club" restaurant on 17-Sept-2016. During the event the PMI Armenia Chapter leader Mr. Thomas Mazejian has presented the chapter's vision and mission. Moreover he has emphasized the importance of chapter member benefits and volunteering work. Mr. Laszlo Kremmer the PMI Region Mentor for Eastern Europe has joined the meeting via video conference and delivered his welcome message to the audience. The last part was interactive whereby each chapter member introduced themselves and expressed their opinion of how they could help the chapter to develop. The event was full of enthusiastic members who were eager to use their skills and dedicate some of their spare time to PMI Armenia Chapter.

Moreover during the event the project management heroes of Armenia, Miss Astghik Sahakyan and Mr. Mikayel Nshanyan, were appreciated for their dedication in training project management courses.

PMI Armenia Chapter is a non-profit professional organization registered in Armenia relying completely on volunteerism. Its mission is to support the growth and development of project management practitioners; as well as build awareness of the project management discipline and its critical role in business and organization success.
