PMI Armenia Potential Chapter volunteers conducted project management training to the teachers and students of Global Bridge Educational Center on 29-October-2016. This training was the first step of collaboration between PMI Armenia Potential Chapter and Global Bridge.
PMI Armenia Potential Chapter members volunteers Mr. Mikayel Nshanyan, PMP (PMI Armenia Potential Chapter Co-founder), Ms. Marine Grigoryan, PMP (PMI Armenia Potential Chapter Member), Mr. Davit Iskandaryan, PMP (PMI Armenia Potential Chapter Member), Mr. Artak Babayan, PMP (PMI Armenia Potential Chapter Member) have explained the basics of project management and emphasized on its importance.
The meeting was initiated by Mr. Mikayel Nshanyan’s opening speech. He introduced the representatives of PMI Armenia Chapter and then gave a short overview about PMI indicating the important role which this organization plays nowadays in the field of project management.
Ms. Marine Grigoryan presented PMI and PMI Armenia Chapter. Mr. Davit Iskandaryan continued the presentation with the introduction of the basics of the project management with real-life examples. After the presentations active discussions followed during which Mr. Davit Iskandaryan and Mr. Artak Babayan brought examples from their own professional experience.
The second session was with the Global Bridge students (12-17 years old).Mr. Davit Iskandaryan introduced the basics of the project management to the students with examples of small project (birthday party). In addition, a real personal project of one of the students was discussed (exhibition of students’ paintings at school).
“One of the key strategic directions of PMI Armenia Chapter is to work with the academia and schools. We highly believe that project management skills should be taught to students as an area of important competency. We are looking forward to improve and enhance our collaboration with Global Bridge, by introducing more specialized project management trainings” explained Mr. Thomas Mazejian, PMI Armenia Potential Chapter founder and leader.
“This is a very good initiative. Our school staff and students are very interested. I do hope that this cooperation will lead to professional development of the staff as well as will help the students to be confident enough in taking first steps in projects management field” said Mrs. Anna Harutyunyan co-founder and CEO of Global Bridge Educational Center and School.
“I’m very excited and I believe that our staff and students will gain a lot of knowledge in the field of project management with the help of PMI Armenia Chapter members. This is a good start for our students to understand the basis of project management and use the obtained skills in the realization of their personal future projects” said Mrs Satine Gharakeshishyan, Head of the Extracurricular Activities Department.
Mrs. Satine Gharakeshishyan asked PMI Armenia Chapter representatives for another meeting where they may share with them some materials useful for the teachers to help to the students to realize their assigned personal projects in accordance with project management standards.
